Philip Kamrass has been in search of the moment and beautiful light for over 25 years as a newspaper photojournalist, documenting the length and breadth of the Hudson River valley for both the Times Herald-Record and the Albany Times Union. He currently shoots for clients like Ulster Magazine and the Associated Press.

He uses available light and the lights available to him as a visual storyteller, specializing in environmental portraiture. He has been honored repeatedly by the Associated Press and the National Press Photographers Association, along with the National Baseball Hall of Fame Photo Contest.

He lives with his family in Saugerties, New York, between Albany and New York, where the light is great.
